County Committee Leadership
I've spent the day, as I celebrate Nochebuena/Christmas Eve with my mother and FaceTime with my family, thought a lot about this meeting last night.
Last night marked a new low in the BK Democratic Party - while Leadership used words like "unity" and "transformation" what we witnessed and experienced was the opposite. We were systematically ignored and silenced under the guise of Roberts Rules of Order and Parliamentary Procedure by an illegitimately elected leader and a Parliamentarian with no authority.
There was ZERO transparency in the voting process which was cloaked in darkness and rules overwhelmingly passed last week were allegedly thrown out. I am outraged at the behavior of not just the leaders of this party, but of my colleagues who sat idly by and let this charade of a meeting go on and chose to do nothing while the party continually disenfranchised thousands of county committee voters.
Let me be quite clear. Leadership has failed Brooklyn and I demand top to bottom structural reform - we cannot allow this to continue.
